CALL FOR DEVELOPMENT ANGELS
LIM2020 CALL FOR DEVELOPMENT ANGELS IS CLOSED
NEXT CALL DECEMBER 2020
LIM* proposes an annual programme for “Development angels”, film professionals — creative producers, story-editors, development executives, commissioning editors… — wanting to strengthen their ability to follow the development of feature film projects.
* LIM’s tutors & script consultants are acclaimed writers still active in the tough job of delivering scripts at the highest international level.
* LIM pushes the limits of how the combination of collective thinking and individual coaching of the writing process can help the best emerging writers and filmmakers push the boundaries of what script they can deliver.
* LIM is the Creative Europe programme in which new methodological approaches to using constraints as a trigger for greater creativity in screenwriting are tested and conceived in a European and international context.
We have chosen the term “Development angels” as an alternative to the more restricted notion of “Story editors” because we strongly believe that the art of development should be an across-the-board collaboration between script professionals, producers, sales agents, film-fund managers and everyone involved in the process. We believe everyone will benefit from evolving common tools and a common language together with writers and directors.
Each “Development angel” selected will have the opportunity to work alongside selected filmmakers within the development process, following each step of the approach developed by the script-consultants. They will also benefit from dedicated masterclasses and sessions, designed to highlight specific development tools.
Four “Development angels” participate in each of the three one-week LIM sessions in Europe through the year. All in all, twelve participants selected from this call will thus be able to monitor the development of four projects over that period, while also being coached separately in giving feedbacks and in methodology by a dedicated tutor, LIM’s Artistic Director, Le Groupe Ouest founder, Antoine Le Bos.
