Virginia Martin was born in Berlin with a diverse heritage that combines German and Argentine roots. She is producer and co-founder of the Berlin-based independent production company Contando Films, dedicated to developing and producing filmmaker-driven cinema. In 2020, she graduated with a master’s degree in Media Studies at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf after studying at the University of Mannheim and in Madrid. Her films have been selected and awarded at international festivals, including Berlinale, San Sebastián, Thessaloniki, Palm Springs, and the German Short Film Award. Virginia was selected for the EAVE Producers Workshop 2026 . She is a LIM-Less is More Development Angel and an alumna of numerous renowned programmes, including the ACE Training Days NL, the AI and East & West Co-Production Lab at WEMW Trieste, the Cutting Edge Talent Camp and participated in the Locarno Open Doors Programme. She is a member of PROG Producers of Germany where she was elected as head of the talent department in 2025. Since 2020, she has been working as a lecturer at Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf.
