Kevin is a writer and director based in Berlin and Ludwigsburg. Since 2020 he studies directing at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg, including an exchange at La Fémis in Paris. His French-German co-production PRINCE DE LA VILLE (2024), co-directed with Amina Krami, premiered at the Sarajevo Film Festival and later screened at Uppsala IFF among others. OUT OF THE BLUE (2025), co-produced by SWR and ARTE, was shown at Palm Springs ShortFest and Odense IFF 2026. His latest short, MOTHER OF A SON (2026), co-produced with SWR, premiered in the International Competition at Clermont-Ferrand 2026 and played Cinemajove Valencia, Odense IFF and Drama IFF afterwards. Kevin is currently writing his first feature film, DOGWHISTLE (WT), selected for the Cutting Edge Talent Camp 2025 and Le Groupe Ouests’ lim² | Less is More 2026.

Set in the present against the backdrop of a rural town in southern Germany, where the land grows drier by the day and the fire risk index has not come down in weeks, Andrea (55), a nurse and member of the local council, is so busy pushing her tradition-minded community toward tolerance that she misses how far her sixteen-year-old son Erik has already moved away from her. What first looks like teenage bravado, a burned rainbow flag, a video of masked boys, a silence that holds through an entire police interview, keeps pulling Erik deeper into a circle of far-right friends. Andrea covers for him and tells herself it is a phase, certain she can still reach him. At a Christopher Street Day parade she watches her own son pulled out of a black-clad bloc and led away. When she confronts him at home, his anger turns physical against her. Something she tells no one. Around her, a town that has decided the danger is over the moment the rain comes holds Andrea personally responsible for her son. By the time the police come for Erik, the question before the custody judge is no longer only what he has done, but whether his mother can stand for him, whether there is anything at home the court should know. She will have to answer before she knows who she is protecting
