Crumbs

Simon (41) -a baker- holds the last shop in a rural and deserted village struggling to make proper bread for everyone. He used to hold this bakery with his sister Catherine (45) but she passed away several weeks ago. Simon is now on his own. All he knows is making bread. And Simon declines : he used to be nicer, the bread used to be more tasty. One day arrives in the village Aïssa (35). She is from Senegal and hopes to join her husband in Ireland when she gets enough money. She asks Simon for work and he accepts for her extra hands. But the village does not see this arrival as a good sign. Especially Fanch (45) the grieving husband of Catherine, owner of half of the bakery. He feels like Simon is trying to replace her… It is the beginning of an endless spiral from which the village is not going to come out unscathed. This is a story of despair and violence. Crumbs is a slow burning thriller taking place in a rural and deserted village struggling with poverty and loneliness.
