Development angels

A new approach for Film Industry Professionals
to boost talents in development

LIM2025
Training Programme for Development angels

Call for entries will be open at the end of January 2025.

LIM elaborated a training programme for film industry professionals — creative producers, story-editors, development executives, commissioning editors… — wanting to strengthen their ability to follow the development phase of feature film projects.

LIM is welcoming applicants from (and/or living in) the European Union, Eurimages Countries and non-EU countries participating in the Creative Europe Programme, as well as the United Kingdom*.

We have chosen the term “Development angels” as an alternative to the more restricted notion of “Story editors” because we strongly believe that the art of development should be an across-the-board collaboration between script professionals, producers, sales agents, film-fund managers and everyone involved in the process. We believe everyone will benefit from evolving common tools and a common language together with writers and directors.

One of LIM’s battle points is the necessity to work collectively at European level on opening new horizons of humanism in a troubled world. Through our work with researchers in cognitive sciences, anthropology and other fields adjacent to storytelling, we have developed tools so as to better understand the creative process, but also guide authors through the different phases of project & script development.

Leaning on our perceptions and sensitive story and film reception, we try to desacralize the act of writing in itself in order to reinvest the moment where the shape of a story has to find its own emotions, architecture and singularity.

During that phase of work, we use extensively the tremendous field of possibilities that oral telling can open. Using the telling as a very flexible digging tool during the development process.

How can Development angels use limitations as a positive and creative tool to help an exciting development process, and in the meantime help the author shape and strengthen both story and meaning.
