Anthea Devotta grew up in India and the UK, and holds a BA (Hons) in Film and Television studies from Royal Holloway, University of London. now based in Doha, Qatar, she has been employed at the Doha Film Institute since 2011. she currently works as a senior coordinator for the institute’s Film Training and Development team, where she contributes to the production of filmmaking workshops and labs, and the creation of program content to support short and feature-film development in the Middle East. she also manages the institute’s labs for screenwriting, filmmaking, producing, and television series. she is a key member of the team behind Qumra, working closely with the Industry team to manage international mentors and project delegates.
Prior to moving to Qatar, Devotta worked at World Wide Pictures in London. Over the course of the past ten years, she has gained extensive knowledge of video production, and produced live-to-air programmes for the European space Agency’s satellite launches from Belgium, Germany, Italy, and Russia. Her creative drive and love for film have seen her in a wide range of roles, including the planning and operations of annual film festivals and industry events.
