Marek is a Prague based writer-director.

He graduated from the Department of Theatre and Film Studies (Palacky University in Olomouc) and from the Department of Directing (FAMU).
From 2018 to 2020 he was Agnieszka Holland’s Personal Assistant and a Post-production Coordinator on her film Charlatan. He worked as a Head of Development for Marlene Film Production (2019-2021) and now works as a freelance director, Game Designer for Warhorse Studios, an expert for Creative Europe MEDIA and as a FIPRESCI member he often writes about cinema.
Marek is a participant of the MIDPOINT Feature Launch 2016, Zurich IFF Industry Academy 2020 and Talents Nest Vilnius 2022. He is a member of the Czech Directors and Screenwriters Guild, member of the European Film Academy and Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.

In 2021 he co-established Films & Chips production company.
