Morgan Simon graduated from La Fémis in Paris. His award-winning short films have been shown worldwide including Try To Die Young, César nominee 2016, and Ghost Pleasure, Cannes Directors’ Fortnight 2019. Morgan Simon’s short films were released on DVD by JHR and shown at La Cinémathèque française for a retrospective in 2022. His first feature film, A Taste of Ink, featured in Cannes’ L’Atelier Cinéfondation and has been awarded in numerous international film festivals. Critically acclaimed, A Taste of Ink was released in 2017 and nominated for the Louis-Delluc Prize for best first film. Praised for its sensibility, his second feature, Somewhere in Love, was released in 2024 and awarded the Fondation Barrière Cinema Prize. Morgan Simon was jury member for the Queer Palm at the 71 st Cannes Film Festival. A Night in Paradise is his third feature.

A night in paradise

Elliott, 23, is a French model as handsome as he is shy. His angelic good looks made him quickly a rising star in the fashion industry. Coming from a modest family, to be part of this world is a dream coming true for Elliott who worked so hard and who is determined to succeed. As he travels through Europe for a Vogue magazine cover photoshoot, his manager urges him to attend to a special party that could open him many doors. In a luxurious apartment takes place a high-ranked libertine party where celebrities and important people meet and spend good time together out of sight. While his eyes marvel at the splendor of this privileged place and the possibility of all desires, Elliott discovers that behind the gilding and smiles of facade hide some cruel truths of the world.
