Virginia Martin

Virginia Martin was born in Berlin with a diverse heritage that combines German and Argentine roots. She is producer and co-founder of the Berlin-based independent production company Contando Films, dedicated to developing and producing filmmaker-driven cinema.
In 2020, she graduated with a master’s degree in Media Studies at the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf after studying at the University of Mannheim and in Madrid.
Her films have been selected and awarded at international festivals, including Berlinale, San Sebastián, Thessaloniki, Palm Springs, German Short Film Award.
She’s an alumna of the ACE Training Days NL, and the AI and Co-Production Lab at WEMW Trieste and participated in the Locarno Open Doors Programme.
She is a member of PROG – Producers of Germany and works as a lecturer at the Film University in Babelsberg.
